The experience
You get the whole vehicle and an expert guide to yourselves. We travel in a state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz V-Class with wide seats and big windows, in groups less than half the size of a typical sixteen-seat minibus tour — so the day flexes around you, and our highly experienced guides know when to talk and when to let the landscape speak.
Many visitors find driving here daunting — on the left, around roundabouts, along the steep and narrow lanes into the Dales and Moors. Leave it to a highly trained local driver-guide and you'll relax, see far more, and never miss a viewpoint looking for parking.
Almost always, yes. Because groups are small, we can offer a gentler pace or an alternative for anyone who'd like to do a little less — or a little more, in a different way. Just tell us about any concerns when you book and we'll plan around them.

Booking, pricing & payment
The practical bits
Per group. One clear price covers the whole vehicle for up to seven guests, including VAT — not per head. See our pricing page for the full breakdown.
A private Mercedes-Benz V-Class, an expert local driver-guide, hotel or station pickup, and a route built around you. Entrance fees, meals and refreshments are extra.
There's no deposit simply to enquire or hold a date. Payment is usually made on the day or before your journey — by card, bank transfer, PayPal or cash — and we'll confirm everything in writing.
Cancel more than 28 days before and you're refunded in full, less a 15% booking fee; 7 to 28 days before, typically 50%; within 7 days the full price is payable. Full details are in our terms & conditions.
Yes — we regularly host up to fourteen guests across two V-Class vehicles, each with its own driver-guide. Just ask for a group quote.
On the day
While you're with us
Door to door from your York hotel, Airbnb or the station — just tell us where you're staying and we'll take care of the rest.
Only as much as you like. Our days are flexible and the vehicle is never far away, so you can do as much or as little on foot as suits your group.
Tours run in all but exceptional conditions — we simply adapt the route, and can swap in indoor options like museums, galleries or stately homes to make the most of the day.
Yes — just tell us your children's ages when you book and we'll have the right seats fitted and ready in the V-Class.
There's generous luggage space for a group of seven and their bags — ideal for airport and station transfers. Unfortunately we're not able to accommodate pets.
